Introduction
You can upgrade Gravity Forms at any time and receive an adjusted/discounted rate automatically. Coupon codes and discounts do not apply to license upgrades. You can upgrade your license from within your Gravity account page.
Eligibility:
Not all license types can be upgraded. Refer to this guide for a summary guide of each license type.
A license attached to a canceled subscription is not eligible for upgrading.
How do I upgrade my Gravity Forms license?
- Log in to the Gravity Account page, and next to the license you would like to manage, click the Manage button.
- Click the blue Upgrade License button.
- You will be presented with a list of upgrade options.
Note that this screen shows the full-year cost, but your upgrade cost may be cheaper. The calculated price for your upgrade will be shown on the next screen.
- Choose a license type to upgrade to.
- After making a choice, you will be presented with an information screen detailing your upgrade cost and terms. Carefully review this dialog as it will show:
(1) the upgrade cost and details on how it was calculated.
(2) the renewal schedule for your subscription after the license upgrade.
(3) the terms and conditions that pertain to your purchase. - Complete the checkout process by clicking the Purchase & Upgrade Now button. The charge will now be attempted on the credit card on file for this license.
What happens when I upgrade?
When you upgrade, your license key does not change, but the license type it represents is changed. No updates are necessary for any websites where you already have the license key installed.
How is my upgrade price calculated?
When upgrading, your purchase price will be calculated based on a few factors:
- the amount you paid for your current license’s most recent purchase or upgrade transaction.1,2
- the remaining term of the existing license you are upgrading from.1
- the list price of the new license you are upgrading to.3
All the relevant details will be displayed in a summary dialog before checkout. Review this information carefully to understand the price.
How is my next renewal date calculated?
The renewal date for an upgraded license may vary based on the original purchase date of your license.
Upgrading an older subscription will reset the term to one year from the upgrade date. Your renewal date will change.
Newer licenses (generally those purchased on or after May 2026) will retain the same renewal date as the original license that was upgraded. That is, no change to your license term.
Be sure to review the information dialog that precedes the purchase screen carefully, as it will outline the terms and costs associated with your specific upgrade.
Can I downgrade later?
No. Downgrading, going from one Gravity Forms license type to a lesser value license type, is not permitted. Refunds for any upgraded license will refund all transactions made in the last 30 days for that license and will terminate the license in full immediately—a refund will not downgrade the license to any previously owned level. This is noted in our terms and conditions and explicitly identified during the upgrade process.

Notes
1. This amount will be prorated based on the remaining (“unused”) term of your existing subscription.
2. Discounts or coupons applied during the previous purchase or renewal transaction are not applied to future upgrades, and they do not count towards any proration calculations. Only the out-of-pocket amount is considered for upgrade calculations.
3. When upgrading from a newer subscription where the renewal date does not change (reference), the value of the new license will be prorated based on the term remaining in your current subscription year.
